Abstract submissions are invited for papers dealing with the legal and economic implications of the use of digital technology by the re/insurance industry. Accepted abstracts will be presented at the 20th Joint Seminar of The Geneva Association and the European Association of Law and Economics (EALE), hosted by the Jagiellonian University in Kraków on 13–14 June 2024.
Deadline for abstracts: 10 February 2024
A selection of papers from the seminar will thereafter be invited for publication in The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance—Issues and Practice, the flagship journal of The Geneva Association.
Papers might address, inter alia, the following issues:
- Legal and regulatory challenges in the digital insurance era
- Privacy and data protection issues in digital insurance
- Ethical considerations around the use of digital technology in insurance
- Technological advancements and their impact on insurance operations
- Digital platforms and their role in insurance distribution and consumer behaviour
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning in claims processing and fraud detection
- Smart contracts and blockchain technology in insurance contracts and settlements
- Insurtech startups and their impact on traditional insurance models
- Cyber insurance and the challenges of digital risk management
Abstracts should be submitted by 10 February 2024 for review by a scientific board. Acceptance decisions will be announced by 1 March 2024.
Full papers will be due for submission by 23 May 2024.
